Announcement of District Incentive Program - Adopted September 3, 2010

District 6040 Rotarians:

I recently discovered District Foundation points that can be awarded to District Rotarians. Some of these points will be used to provide incentives to clubs and Rotarians. It is hoped that this program will not detract from the spirit of support that District Rotarians have demonstrated for the Rotary Foundation; the continuance of that support is very important.

Incentive to increase club membership – the world needs more Rotarians!
The District will provide an incentive for increasing club and district membership. At the end of each quarter, the President of the club that has the greatest percentage increase in their club membership for the quarter will be asked to select an individual to receive a Paul Harris Award. The analysis will compare the number of rotary members that your club has on the last day of the quarter with the number on the first day of the same quarter. RI Member Access numbers will be used, which means to be counted the new member needs to be included in RI’s database at the end of the quarter.

Incentive for club extension – the world needs more Rotary Clubs!
The District will also provide an incentive for clubs to expand the number of clubs in the District. If the members of your club participate in the formation of a new club and a new club is formed, the President of your club will be asked to choose from two  options:
  1. Select three individuals from the club or community to receive a Paul Harris Award, or
  2. accept a cash award of $1,000 to be contributed to a club’s service or fundraising project.

Incentive to increase the number of Foundation Bequests
The District also seeks to encourage more bequests to the Rotary Foundation. For individuals from D6040 who sign up to provide a bequest to The Rotary Foundation between July 1, 2010 and November 6, 2010 at 6:30, one name will be randomly selected from the list and that individual will either receive, or be allowed to select an individual to receive, a Paul Harris Award. That form must be completed and submitted to Ron Mullennix, the Chair of the Permanent Fund, or Jeff Romine, District Governor by November 6 at 6:30. The name will selected at the Foundation Dinner on November 6. Ron’s address: 2 South Main, Liberty MO 64068, Jeff’s address is 500 College Park Drive, Kirksville MO 63501.

The membership and club extension incentives will be available through June 30, 2011.

If you have any questions, feel free to inquire of the District Governor.
