Chartering Event for North Star Rotary, RSVP Today

posted Aug 23, 2013, 5:33 AM by Bryan Krusniak
The Rotary Club of Kirksville - North Star will officially be welcomed into Rotary International through a chartering event on Tuesday, September 24.  We would love it if you and members of you club could attend in welcoming us to the region and to Rotary International.  Please RSVP today and let us know you'll be there with us.

Itinerary
The event is actually a series of small events held at the Kirksville Country Club.  Everyone is welcome to attend any and all parts.  Those include:
  • 3:30-5:00:  Past Rotary International President Ray Klingsmith will be hosting "Rotary Update and a Forum on New Model Rotary Clubs,"  a session for current and former district leadership.  He will be sharing what is new with Rotary International and discussing how new model clubs can welcome new Rotarians.  The event is geared for district leadership but is open to all guests.
  • 5:00-6:45:  A wine and cheese reception will be held to welcome and catch up with Rotarians from around the region.  Following the reception will be the formal chartering event. There the charter will be presented, new members will be introduced, and the new club be formally welcomed into Rotary.  The new club looks forward to meeting with other clubs in the region.
  • 7:00:  Following the chartering event, all guest are invited to dinner on their own at one of the many restaurants in Kirksville.  Touch base with friends at the reception to see where you would like to eat.
Cost and RSVP
There is a $10 cost for each person at the chartering event.  That can be paid at the door.  We would also greatly appreciate an RSVP by Tuesday, September 17, so we know how many people to plan for.  You can RSVP here.  Please RSVP by Tuesday, September 17 so we can accurately plan for the chartering event.  An RSVP is not required for dinner afterwards as that event is on your own.  Guests will be ordering from the menu and taking care of their own bill for that portion of the evening.

Location and Lodging
The Kirksville Country Club is located at:
1101 Country Club Drive
Kirksville, Missouri 63501

If you plan to stay the night in Kirksville, the Chamber of Commerce has a wonderful page detailing all the lodging options in town.

They also have a great page with travel instructions to Kirksville.  A GPS device can also point the way, though we recommend a route that doesn't involve MO-11 from Bookfield to Kirksville (the ride winds up and around a lot of hills and can be a hard ride for some passengers).

Contact for the Event
If you have questions about the event, please get in touch with Past District Governor Matt Eichor.  PDG Matt can be reached via email at meichor@truman.edu or at 660-665-1149.

We hope you will be able to join us.  Thank you for welcoming our club into Rotary!
